Often times I am working with customers and they aren’t sure if they have already entered a transaction.
There are several ways to see if you have:
If you are dealing with a vendor you can go to the vendor center and see all related transactions and the same is true for customers in the customer center.
You could open up the check register and scroll up and down.
What if you know the exact amount? Well the easiest way is to press control-f and click on the advanced tab. In the left section of the box select the second choice called “amount” and move the dot down to equals to. Then enter the amount.
This has proven to be a huge timesaver for me in discovering duplicate entries. Or missing entries.
